But wealthy American progressives \u2014 including Mayorkas \u2014 incentivized those poor migrants to risk their lives by loosening the U.S. asylum rules after 2008. And many more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/10\/05\/reports-joe-bidens-open-border-disaster-killed-hundreds-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">migrants are dying<\/a>&nbsp;and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/03\/16\/seven-heartbreaks-caused-by-bidens-progressive-border-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suffering<\/a>&nbsp;while <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/americas\/migrants-hopes-dashed-by-surprise-deportation-haiti-us-border-2021-10-08\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trying to reach<\/a> Mayorkas\u2019s border lottery.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"9.5435540069686\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Hundreds of economic migrants are dying to reach Biden&#8217;s dangled offer of jobs and U.S. residency \u2014 despite laws that protect Americans.<br \/>Estb. journos can say little now, but eagerly blamed Trump for far fewer deaths.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VupQsbKlJV\">https:\/\/t.co\/VupQsbKlJV<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Neil Munro (@NeilMunroDC) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NeilMunroDC\/status\/1445814783278678024?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 6, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Mayorkas also ignored Americans\u2019 legal and economic rights to a secure border, even though he admitted the migrant flow crashed when President Donald Trump\u2019s deputies ran the program, also called the Migrant Protection Protocols [MPP):<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"9\">\n<p>The Secretary has presumed\u2014as is likely\u2014that MPP contributed to a decrease in migration flows \u2026 border encounters decreased rapidly, falling 64 percent in just three months \u2026 [But] the relevant data is simply insufficiently precise to make an exact estimate of the extent to which MPP may have contributed to decreased flows at the southwest border.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>However, Mayorkas\u2019s agency <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/newsroom\/stats\/southwest-land-border-encounters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has precise information<\/a> on the number of migrants it is allowing to compete for Americans\u2019 apartments and jobs. It also has good data on the roughly 400,000 job-seeking migrants \u2014 dubbed \u201cgot-aways\u201d \u2014 who sneaked through the overwhelmed border force.<\/p>\n<p>Mayorkas also admitted the RIM program accelerated the legal review of migrants\u2019 claims for asylum; \u201cMPP did result in some removal proceedings being completed more expeditiously than is typical for non-detained cases.\u201d But he downplayed that benefit for Americans by arguing that migrants must deliver \u201cfair and just outcomes\u201d to foreigners.<\/p>\n<p>But the costs to migrants exceed the benefits, he said: \u201cIt is thus the Secretary\u2019s judgment that the benefits of MPP are far outweighed by the costs of the program, in whatever form.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mayorkas is a child refugee from Cuba and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.post-gazette.com\/opinion\/Op-Ed\/2021\/10\/27\/Alejandro-N-Mayorkas-Fight-ongoing-to-eradicate-hate-3-years-after-Pittsburgh-tragedy\/stories\/202110270026\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pro-migration zealot<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>In June, for example, he argued that the dignity of migrants is the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/06\/09\/mayorkas-dignity-of-migrants-is-foremost-dhs-priority\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">foremost<\/a>\u201d duty of his agency. In May, he said the agency\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/05\/04\/dhs-mayorkas-ignores-americans-border-our-highest-priority-is-to-help-migrant-families\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">highest priority<\/a>\u201d is the return of lawfully deported adults to live with their left-behind children in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>In April 2021, he said migrant-owned companies \u201care <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/05\/03\/dhs-majorkas-immigrants-are-backbone-us-economy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the backbone<\/a> of our communities \u2014 and of our country.\u201d&nbsp; In 2013, Mayorkas&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/fVpXrJBIHH8?t=108\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">declared<\/a>&nbsp; that Americans\u2019 homeland is \u201ca nation that always has been and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fVpXrJBIHH8&amp;t=108s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">forever will remain<\/a> a Nation of Immigrants.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Mayorkas wrote the 39-page document to satisfy federal Judge Matt&nbsp;Kacsmaryk. In August, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/08\/14\/texas-judge-restores-trumps-remain-in-mexico-policy-that-joe-biden-ended\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kacsmaryk directed<\/a> Mayorkas to restore the MPP or else detain all asylum-seeking migrants until their claims have been decided.<\/p>\n<p>Mayorkas claimed in his October 29 reply to Kacsmaryk that the MPP program is optional because he also has the legal power to \u201cparole\u201d an unlimited number of people into the United States, regardless of the obvious economic and civic damage to his fellow Americans:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"13\">\n<p>Notably, the [legal] statute does not set any limit on the number of individuals DHS can decide to release on parole.<\/p>\n<p>Rather, Congress simply required that parole decisions be made on a case-by-case basis and that they be based on \u201curgent humanitarian reasons\u201d or \u201csignificant public benefit.\u201d117 As the statute does not define those ambiguous terms, Congress left it to the&nbsp;agency to define them.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Mayorkas also described his alternative to the RIM program \u2014 the fast-track consideration of many migrants claims for asylum, and their quick release into Americans\u2019 jobs, housing, and schools:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote readability=\"14\">\n<p>The Department is committed to channeling migration through safe and orderly pathways and reforming our asylum adjudication system to achieve more timely, fair, and efficient results \u2026<\/p>\n<p>As part of these efforts, the United States is working bilaterally and multilaterally with countries across the Western Hemisphere, seeking to encourage humane border enforcement and <strong>enhance legal pathways<\/strong>&nbsp;[emphasis added] throughout the region<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Mayorkas also wants to open a new doorway to citizenship at the border by giving his pro-migrant deputies the authority to grant citizenship on the spot to a very large number of migrants, without any pushback from judges, or review by groups that recognize the economic harm of migration. He says in the memo that he has drafted regulations:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"20\">\n<p>Allowing [migrant] cases with positive credible-fear findings to remain within USCIS [DHS\u2019 U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services agency] for the full asylum merits adjudication, rather than being shifted to immigration judge-review \u2026<\/p>\n<p>Once implemented, the Asylum Officer Rule is expected to represent a transformative and lasting shift in asylum claim processing that will ensure rapid and fair processing in a way that delivers appropriate outcomes and realistically keeps pace with the workflow. \u2026<\/p>\n<p>Achieving the rule\u2019s objectives will require substantial investment in resources, training, and personnel; to fully implement this new process, USCIS will need to quadruple the current asylum officer corps.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Many&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/09\/11\/zuckerbergs-investor-lobby-promises-wages-raises-with-amnesty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">polls show<\/a>&nbsp;that labor migration is&nbsp;deeply&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/tag\/immigration-poll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">unpopular<\/a>&nbsp;because it damages ordinary Americans\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/immigration\/2021\/03\/12\/bloomberg-opts-h1bs-take-two-three-new-tech-jobs-each-year\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">career<\/a> opportunities, cuts their&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2021\/04\/08\/elite-academics-hide-amnesty-wage-pain-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wages<\/a>, and raises their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/06\/16\/new-yorks-mayoral-rivals-vow-cheap-housing-plus-more-migrants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rents.<\/a>&nbsp;Migration also curbs Americans\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/economy\/2020\/07\/11\/president-trump-wins-big-on-secret-meatpacking-robots\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">productivity<\/a>, shrinks their political&nbsp;<a class=\"x5l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.breitbart.com+%22john+binder%22+%22demographic+change%22&amp;rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS946US946&amp;oq=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.breitbart.com+%22john+binder%22+%22demographic+change%22&amp;aqs=chrome..69i57j69i58.10228j0j4&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;ie=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">clout<\/a>, widens&nbsp;regional wealth&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/08\/13\/zuckerbergs-data-says-amnesty-gives-economic-windfall-coastal-democratic-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gaps<\/a>, and wrecks their democratic, compromise-promoting civic&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/search\/?s=%22white+supremacy%22#gsc.tab=0&amp;gsc.q=%22white%20supremacy%22&amp;gsc.page=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">culture<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>For many years, a&nbsp;<a
