Franklin Graham <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FranklinGraham\/posts\/422054469290153\">said<\/a> Ed and Carol Ely\u2019s group has been able to give over 23,400 sweaters for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, and this week they delivered an extra 933.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cDozens of knitters in their network devote their time and energy to making these. So special! Everyone enjoys getting handmade gifts! Such a thoughtful thing to do!\u201d another user&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FranklinGraham\/posts\/422054469290153?comment_id=635617430940755\">commented<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Samaritan\u2019s Purse <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samaritanspurse.org\/operation-christmas-child\/fact-sheet-occ\/\">project<\/a> dubbed Operation Christmas Child gathers shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene products, and delivers them to children in need all over the world to \u201cdemonstrate God\u2019s love in a tangible way,\u201d according to its website.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor many of these children, the gift\u2014filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received,\u201d the site continued:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"12\">\n<p>Since 1993, Operation Christmas Child, the world\u2019s largest Christmas project of its kind, has collected and delivered more than 188 million shoebox gifts to children in more than 170 countries and territories.
