The president also reportedly delivered a \u201cchallenge coin\u201d to the pope.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI\u2019m not sure this is appropriate, but there is a tradition in America that the president, that he gives to warriors and leaders,\u201d Biden said. \u201cYou are the most significant warrior for peace I\u2019ve ever met, and I\u2019d like to be able to give you a coin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cI know my son would want me to give this to you,\u201d Biden said, referencing his late son Beau.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The New York Times also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/10\/29\/world\/biden-pope-communion-abortion.html\">reported<\/a> that Biden responded, \u201cYes,\u201d when he was asked by the media if Francis said if he should keep getting communion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Times added:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Asked to confirm Mr. Biden\u2019s remarks, Matteo Bruni, the Vatican spokesman, said the Holy See limited its comments to the news release about subjects discussed during the meeting and added, \u201cIt\u2019s a private conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The practice of communion among pro-abortion government leaders who say they are practicing Catholics has been a debate for some time.
