The actor later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2021\/10\/28\/santa-fe-d-a-baldwin-pulled-the-trigger-doesnt-mean-charges-will-be-filed-doesnt-mean-they-wont\/\">pulled the trigger<\/a>, fatally shooting Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Gutierrez-Reed has since faced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2021\/10\/27\/report-rust-armorer-hannah-gutierrez-reed-infuriated-nicolas-cage-on-previous-gig-you-just-blew-my-fing-eardrums-out\/\">heavy scrutiny<\/a>, as she was one of the few people who handled the firearm before it was given to Baldwin.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"640\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"6.8390804597701\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This was the person in charge of firearms on Baldwin&#8217;s production, no joke. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JUSTcatmeme2?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@JUSTcatmeme2<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/CcNbgGGmGC\">pic.twitter.com\/CcNbgGGmGC<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Franklin  Sheckler \ud83d\udca1 (@FDSheckler) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FDSheckler\/status\/1451863147401338882?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 23, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Along with&nbsp;Gutierrez-Reed,&nbsp;<em>Rust<\/em> assistant director Dave Halls \u2014 who handed the gun to Baldwin and told the actor it did not contain live rounds \u2014 has also been the subject of backlash. It has been reported that Halls&nbsp;was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/news\/crew-member-baldwin-careful-with-guns-before-fatal-shooting\/\">fired<\/a> from a previous job after a gun went off on a set and wounded a member of the film crew.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Watch below:&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u2018Rust\u2019 AD Was Fired From 2019 Film Set for Gun Mishap\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JM5jfP1BmHs?start=90&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>On Wednesday, investigators <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/entertainment\/2021\/10\/27\/alec-baldwin-shooting-there-was-complacency-on-this-set\/\">said<\/a> there was \u201csome complacency\u201d in how weapons were handled on the movie set, but that it\u2019s too soon to determine whether charges will be filed.<\/p>\n<p><strong><i>Watch&nbsp;below:&nbsp;<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies added that 500 rounds of ammunition \u2014 a mix of blanks, dummy rounds, and live rounds \u2014 were found while searching the film set.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_18517522\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\" readability=\"32\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Screen-Shot-2021-10-27-at-4.40.25-PM-1-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18517522\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Screen-Shot-2021-10-27-at-4.40.25-PM-1-2.png\" alt width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Actors and crew members on set on of the movie \u201cRust.\u201d Insider Edition\/Serge Svetnoy\/YouTube<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cHannah and the prop master gained control over the guns and she never witnessed anyone shoot live rounds with these guns and nor would she permit that,\u201d the statement affirmed. \u201cThey were locked up every night and at lunch and there\u2019s no way a single one of them was unaccounted for or being shot by crew members.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B4\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>The attorneys went on to assert that&nbsp;Gutierrez-Reed \u201chas never had an accidental discharge\u201d involving a firearm, and addressed two instances, one which they blamed on a prop master, and another they attributed to a stunt man, who they said was told he had a firearm \u201chot with blanks.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHannah still, to this day, has never had an accidental discharge.
