The claim about the map appears to have first been shared as a joke on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mrj880\/status\/1453017745369534469\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The map actually has nothing to do with climate change. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found the picture was first shared in a February 2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dragerarchitecture.com\/blog\/2014\/02\/the-mediterranean-sea-of-america.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blog post<\/a>&nbsp;titled, \u201cThe Mediterranean Sea of America.\u201d In the post, the author describes taking a cruise around the Mediterranean Sea and later wondering how the U.S. would look if the Mediterranean Sea was in the interior of the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA couple of screen captures, lots of graphic manipulation and now we know,\u201d reads the post. \u201cThe Mediterranean Sea fits within the confines of the United States of America.\u201d<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/04\/28\/fact-check-joe-biden-climate-plan-require-90-percent-less-red-meat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Does Joe Biden\u2019s Climate Plan Require Americans To Eat 90% Less Red Meat?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While the map does not depict the danger of climate change, scientists have warned that climate change could cause a rise in sea levels that would reshape the American landscape.
