The provision <a href=\"https:\/\/www.govinfo.gov\/content\/pkg\/BILLS-117hr5376rh\/pdf\/BILLS-117hr5376rh.pdf\">stipulates<\/a>:<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<div class=\"page\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\" readability=\"12.5\">\n<blockquote readability=\"18\">\n<p>(1) $78,935,000,000, to remain available until September 30, 2031, for necessary expenses for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for strengthening tax enforcement activities and increasing voluntary compliance, expanding audits and other enforcement activities, and modernizing information technology to effectively support enforcement activities, except that no use of these funds is intended to increase taxes on any taxpayer with taxable income below $400,000;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Matt Whitlock, a Republican communicator, said sarcastically that Democrats get \u201cNO CREDIT\u201d for watering down their IRS spying provision and replacing it with billions of dollars for \u201cincreased enforcement and harassment of families and small businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLove that they wrote in a line about how this isn\u2019t intended to raise taxes on anyone making below $400K, even though they\u2019ll be the primary people this hurts,\u201d Whitlock said.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"10.986754966887\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Just right there on page 2,283 (LOL).<\/p>\n<p>Love that they wrote in a line about how this isn&#8217;t intended to raise taxes on anyone making below $400K, even though they&#8217;ll be the primary people this hurts. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qW4Q905zvA\">https:\/\/t.co\/qW4Q905zvA<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/u5HcAAkWn4\">pic.twitter.com\/u5HcAAkWn4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Matt Whitlock (@mattdizwhitlock) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/mattdizwhitlock\/status\/1453841417995005967?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 28, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Biden has insisted that he would not raise taxes on Americans making less than $400,000 per year.<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) called on Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) to oppose the Build Back Better Act rather than simply opposing one measure in the bill.<\/p>\n<p>Daines wrote, \u201cHey partner! It only takes one Senate Democrat to put the kibosh on the entire reckless tax &amp; spending bill in the first place.
