Sitting Bull was shot and killed by Indian police officers on Standing Rock Indian Reservation in 1890, but is remembered for his courage in defending native lands.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Battle at Little Bighorn | History\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UM4eQBpfGIg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>To confirm the connection between Sitting Bull and LaPointe, scientists used DNA from a piece of Sitting Bull\u2019s hair that was stored at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople have been questioning our relationship to our ancestor as long as I can remember.
