Ron DeSantis\u2019 administration has docked funds for school board members and schools after two districts in the state defied the order that masking students is a parent\u2019s decision and school officials should not put a mandate in place.<\/p>\n<p>The move was made despite threats from the White House that it would violate federal law.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B1\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"gmxrevmore\" class=\"H\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cYes, we received another harassing and legally hollow letter from U.S. DOE, and, again, we will continue forward, lawfully, as we have this entire time,\u201d FDOE spokesman Jared Ochs said in response to the Department of Education\u2019s letter to Florida Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cAt a State Board of Education meeting earlier this month, Corcoran said the federal grants were encouraging districts to violate Florida law,\u201d the <em>Tampa Bay Times<\/em> reported. \u201cThe Biden administration has sent $420,957 to Broward County Public Schools and $148,000 to Alachua County Public Schools to counteract fines levied by the state.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16446620\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\" readability=\"32\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Biden.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-16446620\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Biden.jpg\" alt=\"US President Joe Biden(C) and First Lady Jill Biden(R) visit the classroom of fifth-grade teacher Cindy Bertamini, at Yorktown Elementary School in Yorktown, Virginia on May 3, 2021. (Photo by MANDEL NGAN \/ AFP) (Photo by MANDEL NGAN\/AFP via Getty Images)\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">MANDEL NGAN\/AFP via Getty Images<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cFloridians should be offended by the Biden administration\u2019s use of federal taxes in an attempt to make the enforcement of Florida\u2019s laws so ineffective,\u201d Ochs said.<\/p>\n<p>The Associated Press (AP) <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/coronavirus-pandemic-business-education-ron-desantis-school-boards-55151cb1cddf519822f5daa57e5a484f\">reported<\/a> on the development:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"18\">\n<p>School officials in Alachua and Broward counties on Wednesday said the state docked school board salaries and overall funding in amounts equal to federal aid packages meant to blunt the state\u2019s sanctions on mask requirements. This month, more than $164,000 was withheld from the Alachua school district and more than $455,000 was withheld from Broward.<\/p>\n<p>The penalties are the latest development in an ongoing feud between the White House and Republican Gov.
