The NSBA letter stated that \u2018malice, violence, and threats\u2019 against school officials \u2018could be the equivalent of a form of domestic terrorism or hate crimes.\u2019 The letter cited a number of interactions at school board meetings, the vast majority of which did not involve violence or threats. Unsurprisingly, the NSBA\u2019s September 29 letter to President Biden never once mentioned \u201cparents\u201d or parents\u2019 role in their children\u2019s education\u2014although its subsequent apology memorandum purported to value the \u201cvoices of parents. Concerned parents are absolutely not domestic terrorists and, to the extent actual threats exist, local law enforcement\u2014 and not the FBI\u2014are the appropriate authorities to address those situations.
