Kimberly-Clark owns brands like Kleenex, Cottonelle, Huggies diapers, and Scott toilet paper.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur earnings were negatively impacted by significant inflation and supply chain disruptions that increased our costs beyond what we anticipated,\u201d explained Kimberly-Clark chief executive Mike Hsu. \u201cWe are taking further action, including additional pricing and enhanced cost management, to mitigate these headwinds as it is becoming clear they are not likely to be resolved quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company decreased its earnings per share outlook and increased its projected organic sales decline due to \u201csignificantly higher input cost inflation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Though year-over-year revenue increased by 7%, net income dipped 1% from one year ago. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/markets\/kimberly-clark-planning-further-price-increases-mitigate-inflationary-pressures\">Fox Business<\/a> reports that Kimberly-Clark was forced to hike prices in June by mid-to-high single digits.<\/p>\n<p>Kimberly-Clark is far from the only consumer-facing firm to sound alarms over rising inflation, which reached 5.4% in September.<\/p>\n<p>John Gessert \u2014 who leads American Plastic Toys \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/toy-company-ceo-explains-how-high-inflation-worker-shortages-are-slamming-his-business\">said<\/a> during a CNBC interview that inflation is less transitory than officials acknowledge: \u201cIt\u2019s not going to be transitory because \u2026 I can\u2019t imagine going back to the people that have stuck with us and saying, \u2018Okay, we\u2019re going to take $1 out of your hourly wage.\u2019 I just don\u2019t see wage inflation retreating any time soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, hedge fund manager Carl Icahn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/there-will-be-a-crisis-legendary-hedge-fund-manager-warns-that-economy-will-hit-the-wall-due-to-inflation\">asserted<\/a> that \u201cin the long run we are certainly going to hit the wall\u201d due to rising price levels. \u201cI really think there will be a crisis the way we are going, the way we are printing money, the way we are going into inflation.
