Tom Cotton unloaded on Attorney General Merrick Garland as he testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday morning, calling for him to \u201cresign in disgrace.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Garland defended himself before the Senate Judiciary Committee about a press release issued by his office on Oct. 4th that <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/04\/merrick-garland-directs-fbi-to-target-parents-responsible-for-disturbing-spike-in-harassment-intimidation-against-schools\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">called for<\/a> the federal government to get involved in any \u201cimmediate threat\u201d of violence against school board members, teachers or administrators.<\/p>\n<p>Decrying his testimony as \u201cshameful,\u201d Cotton expressed gratitude that Garland was not on the Supreme Court and urged the former judge to resign from his current position in disgrace.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Garland was called upon to answer for what Cotton deemed \u201can outrageous directive of siccing the Feds on parents at school board meetings across America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are the people who are supposed to be chasing jihadists and Chinese spies. What on earth does the National Security Division have to do with parents who are expressing disagreements at school boards?\u201d Cotton asked.<\/p>\n<p>Garland responded that his directive was merely about \u201cthreats of violence\u201d and would therefore not agree to dissolve its formation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy do you continue to dissemble in front of this committee that you are only talking about violence and threats of violence when your memo says harassment and intimidation?\u201d Cotton said.<\/p>\n<p>As Garland continued to insist that he was not targeting parents with his directive, Cotton asked him if he had opened an investigation into the harassment of Democratic Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema&nbsp;in a bathroom earlier this month. Garland declared that he didn\u2019t know whether she had referred the matter to the Justice Department. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/04\/activists-defend-protesters-harassing-kyrsten-sinema-bathroom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: The Left Rushes To Defend Sinema\u2019s Bathroom Harassers)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cotton then brought up the story of Loudoun County, Virginia, father, Scott Smith. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/14\/parent-loudon-county-bathroom-assault\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Smith<\/a>&nbsp;was arrested after a heated exchange when he sought answers from his school board as to why they had covered up the sexual assault of his 15-year-old daughter in a bathroom. &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/26\/high-school-students-stage-walkout-protest-loudoun-countys-sexual-assault\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>(<\/strong><strong>RELATED: \u2018Loudoun County Protects Rapists\u2019: Students Stage Walkout in Protest Of Loudoun County\u2019s Alleged Sexual Assault Cover-Up)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe was raped,\u201d Cotton declared, \u201cin a bathroom by a boy wearing girl\u2019s clothes and the Loudoun County school board covered it up because it would have interfered with their transgender policy during pride month. That man,\u201d Cotton continued, \u201cbecause he went to a school board and tried to defend his daughters rights, was condemned internationally. Do you apologize to Scott Smith and his 15-year-old daughter, judge?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Garland said that anyone whose child was raped had every right to protest to their school board.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Republican Arkansas Sen.
