Ted Cruz listed five questions the embattled attorney general needed to be asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNumber one, why did the Department of Justice cater to the wishes of partisan activists who want to teach critical race theory in schools and think that parents are domestic terrorists? Number two, the Loudoun County School Board covered up a sexual assault by a gender fluid individual against a ninth grade girl. And instead of going after the school board, Merrick Garland attacked the victim\u2019s father in his memo against parents. Did Merrick Garland know about this cover-up and the brutal sexual assault when he issued that political and partisan memo?\u201d Cruz asked in a video, obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller.<\/p>\n<p>Garland <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/04\/merrick-garland-directs-fbi-to-target-parents-responsible-for-disturbing-spike-in-harassment-intimidation-against-schools\/\">wrote<\/a> in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/ag\/page\/file\/1438986\/download\">letter<\/a> to top FBI officials that field agents should \u201c<span id=\"page50R_mcid14\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">convene meetings with federal, state, local, Tribal, and territorial leaders in each federal judicial <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">district\u201d for the purpose of \u201caddressing threats against school administrators, board members, teachers, and staff.\u201d Garland sent his letter shortly after the National School Board Association (NSBA) submitted a l<a href=\"https:\/\/nsba.org\/-\/media\/NSBA\/File\/nsba-letter-to-president-biden-concerning-threats-to-public-schools-and-school-board-members-92921.pdf\">etter<\/a> to President Joe Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/30\/national-school-board-association-biden-admin-police-parents-terror-laws\/\">claiming<\/a> that \u201c<span id=\"page1R_mcid8\" class=\"markedContent\">acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials\u201d <\/span> could constitute \u201cdomestic terrorism.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/07\/jim-banks-national-school-boards-association-letter-patriot-act-department-of-justice\/\"><strong>(RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: Rep. Banks Demands Explanation Of NSBA Domestic Terrorism Letter)<\/strong><\/a><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Following public outcry and reports that the group had <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/21\/nsba-biden-white-house-letter-domestic-terrorists\/\">coordinated<\/a> with the White House on messaging, the NSBA walked back the letter.<\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Sen. Ted Cruz: 5 Things Merrick Garland Needs To Answer Now!\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JvASu0-vER4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>Cruz also cited reports that Garland\u2019s son-in-law <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/22\/merrick-garland-son-in-law-xan-tanner-panorama-critical-race-theory\/\">profits<\/a> from an education company that promotes concepts associated with critical race theory. Garland has <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/21\/there-are-no-conflicts-of-interest-merrick-garland-responded-to-questioning-over-his-son-in-laws-pro-crt-education-company\/\">denied<\/a> any conflict of interest between his son-in-law\u2019s business and the NSBA messaging.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNumber three, there are troubling questions about Garland\u2019s apparent conflict of interest with his son-in-law. His son-in-law makes a whole bunch of money with a company teaching critical race theory \u2014 do ethics matter to the Biden administration?\u201d Cruz asks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNumber four, Garland also needs to answer questions about whether the Department of Justice is investigating Anthony Fauci for lying to Congress,\u201d Cruz continued. \u201cFauci told Congress that the administration had not funded gain of function research on the Wuhan virus. That is a lie. Will the Biden administration pursue charges?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During a May appearance in front of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, White House Chief Medical Advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci denied that his agency, the National Institute on Allergy and Infectious Disease, funded gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology through a grant to the non-profit EcoHealth Alliance. Fauci <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/05\/11\/fauci-denies-funding-gain-of-function-wuhan-lab\/\">described<\/a> Paul\u2019s questioning as \u201centirely and completely incorrect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>However, National Institutes of Health Principal Deputy Director Lawrence Tabak <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/21\/nih-admits-funding-gain-of-function-research\/\">admitted<\/a> in an Oct. 21 letter to House Oversight and Reform Committee Ranking Member and Republican Kentucky Rep. James Comer that EcoHealth Alliance\u2019s experiments should be considered gain-of-function research, and that the organization had not been fully transparent with the U.S. government.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Cruz addressed reports that first responders could resign or be fired due to non-compliance with COVID-19 vaccine mandates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNumber five, finally, in America\u2019s second city, nearly a third of Chicago\u2019s Police Department could be dismissed due to vaccination status.
