Kay Ivey of Alabama signed an executive order late Monday directing state agencies not to enforce federal vaccine mandates.<\/p>\n<p>The governor\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/governor.alabama.gov\/newsroom\/2021\/10\/executive-order-724\/\">order<\/a>&nbsp;said that agencies should cooperate with the Alabama attorney general\u2019s lawsuit against the Biden administration, which issued the mandate for federal workers in September. The order adds that no government entity can enforce that mandatory vaccination for employees and that workers will not be required to show proof of vaccination to enter government buildings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlabamians \u2013 and Americans alike \u2013 should and must have the choice to roll up their sleeves to get this shot and certainly not forced by government,\u201d Ivey said in an accompanying <a href=\"https:\/\/governor.alabama.gov\/newsroom\/2021\/10\/governor-ivey-issues-executive-order-to-fight-overreaching-covid-19-vaccine-mandates\/\">statement<\/a>. \u201cWhile President Biden laughs at the idea of protecting your freedoms, I will continue fighting for Alabama businesses and their employees.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7304139\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"35\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7304139\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">President Joe Biden speaks about the coronavirus pandemic in October, where he encouraged states and businesses to support vaccine mandates to avoid a surge in cases of Covid-19. (Drew Angerer\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Ivey continued to describe the Biden administration\u2019s actions as an \u201cillegal overreach,\u201d and said that she was \u201cconfident we will win the battle in the courts.\u201d&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/13\/majority-supports-joe-biden-vaccine-mandate-poll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Most Americans Support Biden Vaccine Mandates, Polls Show)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am adamantly opposed to federal mandates related to the COVID-19 vaccine and adamantly opposed to state mandates related to the COVID-19 vaccine, plain and simple,\u201d Ivey said. \u201cAs long as I am your governor, the state of Alabama will not force anyone to take a COVID-19 vaccine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>President Joe Biden announced in September that <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/09\/biden-white-house-federal-workers-contractors-vaccine-mandate-coronavirus-pandemic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">federal employees<\/a> and government contractors were required to get the coronavirus vaccine.
