In fact, she had been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/definition-fully-vaccinated-receive-update-according-cdc-director\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vaccinated<\/a> and had been extra careful due to her work with about 25,000 children across the state of Colorado. She had no exposure or symptoms or a positive test.<\/p>\n<p>Archer immediately contacted the administration to tell them that this rumor was absolutely false and that she expected a retraction within 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Eventually, the university\u2019s attorney contacted her to confirm the rumor was false.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo it was clearly somebody who was using the system, manipulating the system to do whatever. I\u2019m not sure what they think they were trying to do, \u201c Archer told the Western Journal.<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-container\" class=\"one-half\" readability=\"6.3053435114504\">\n<p>Should anonymous reports of COVID cases be allowed?<\/p>\n<div id=\"firefly-poll-results\">\n<p>\nYes: 0% (0 Votes)\n<\/p>\n<p>\nNo: 0% (0 Votes)\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>However, the attorney refused to give Archer the name of the person who reported her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was clearly targeting, because they listed days when they had contact with me, [when], not only was I not on the campus, I wasn\u2019t even in the state of Colorado,\u201d Archer said.<\/p>\n<p>Archer feared that this kind of targeting could have happened to anyone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf it was happening to me \u2014 somebody who\u2019s pretty savvy \u2014 what is going to happen to a kid? I mean, you can\u2019t have a vulnerable system like that in these times or in this situation,\u201d Archer said.<\/p>\n<p>So what is CU Denver\u2019s actual policy when it comes to reporting COVID-19 and staying away from campus? The university\u2019s counsel told Archer that they acted too quickly and she shouldn\u2019t have been told she was excluded from campus. Furthermore, the counsel informed Archer that they are planning on changing the process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[B]ut we don\u2019t know whether they have changed the policy or whether this could just happen again tomorrow,\u201d Trachman said.<\/p>\n<p>However, in an official statement, the university stated that they simply followed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/students-speak-pennsylvania-universitys-transgender-policy-promises-consequences-misgendering-complaints\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">policy<\/a> in this whole situation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur No. 1 goal throughout the pandemic has been to keep our campus community safe. We followed our safety protocols and responded with good intent, as we would with any reported positive case of COVID-19 on campus. In less than two hours, we sorted out any misunderstandings and invited the employee back to campus,\u201d CU Denver\u2019s official statement said.<\/p>\n<p>But, the university still will not tell Archer who reported her. So if the policy is not changed, that means harassers can take advantage of the system and COVID-19 hysteria to exclude any individual from campus.<\/p>\n<p>Now Trachman is suing the university on Archer\u2019s behalf for violation of due process. They are also suing for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-doj-forced-defend-trump-disaster-sex-assault-accusers-defamation-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">defamation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo here Celeste not only had a job, but her job required her to be on campus. And look, there are, you know, there are COVID restrictions happening all over the country, but you have to have some process before you can just bar someone from going to their job and doing the fundamental parts of their job,\u201d Trachman said.<\/p>\n<p>If an administrator had simply called Archer to ask if she had COVID-19, they would have been following due process. It would have saved them time and problems as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust think critically. They\u2019re not thinking critically. It\u2019s like this crazy fear has left them not thinking critically,\u201d Archer said. \u201cReactionary behaviors do not do anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Archer\u2019s lawsuit also includes a defamation claim against the unknown harasser. The hope is that this will result in a court order to disclose the name.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I am being targeted \u2026 I\u2019m a little concerned about that and I would like to file a police report, so I need to know who it is. That\u2019s my biggest thing, is to know who did this. Again, because it\u2019s so purposely malicious,\u201d Archer said.<\/p>\n<p>It has been a few weeks since the lawsuit was brought against the university, but Archer has yet to hear anything.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI haven\u2019t heard a word from them regarding the lawsuit. Lots of words with them about what a great job I\u2019m doing and supporting everything I\u2019m doing,\u201d Archer said. \u201cBut it\u2019s like the elephant in the room. Nobody\u2019s brought it up at all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trachman said the university did have a settlement conversation two weeks ago. They asked him to not serve the lawsuit yet, while they talk settlement. But he has yet to hear anything further.<\/p>\n<p>Archer also wants to be amply clear that this is not some sort of vendetta against the university. She is not asking for lots of money in this lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>As a social entrepreneur, Archer is aware that she is an unlikely hire for the university. She said she loves CU Denver and what they allow her to do.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut we \u2014 they, everybody \u2014 we have got to stop reacting. And we have got to start thinking about \u2026 this is not just a linear disease. This is not a virus that is attacking us physically,\u201d Archer said. \u201cThis is something that we\u2019ve allowed to attack us, attack us in a totality of ways.
