At this point, around one-third of the department\u2019s attorneys have left their jobs.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors Brooke Jenkins and Dou Du Bain have also joined an effort to recall Boudin and cited the District Attorney\u2019s lack of commitment to prosecuting crimes as a reason for their decision to step down.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChesa has a radical approach that involves not charging crime in the first place and simply releasing individuals with no rehabilitation and putting them in positions where they are simply more likely to re-offend,\u201d Jenkins said in an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/san-francisco-prosecutors-quit-chesa-boudin-office-recall-joined\">KNTV<\/a>. \u201cBeing an African American and Latino woman, I would wholeheartedly agree that the criminal justice system needs a lot of work, but when you are a district attorney, your job is to have balance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Du Bain, Boudin \u201cdisregards the laws that he doesn\u2019t like, and he disregards the court decisions that he doesn\u2019t like to impose his own version of what he believes is just \u2014 and that\u2019s not the job of the district attorney.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe office was headed in such the wrong direction that the best thing I could do was to join the effort to recall Chesa Boudin as district attorney,\u201d Du Bain added.<\/p>\n<p>According to Fox News, \u201cDu Bain said that in one specific case, he was ordered by Boudin to request a more lenient sentence for a man convicted of shooting his girlfriend. Du Bain believed that was a violation of a state statute and withdrew from the case in protest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve done 136 jury trials in my career \u2014 never, never withdrawn from a case before,\u201d Du Bain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcbayarea.com\/news\/local\/san-francisco\/exclusive-two-sf-prosecutors-quit-join-effort-to-oust-former-boss-district-attorney-chesa-boudin\/2698511\/\">said.<\/a> \u201cI\u2019ve seen decisions made in this office in the last year plus, since Chesa took over, that shocked my conscience \u2014 and I\u2019ve been a prosecutor for 30 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPolice are the bad guys, and the bad guys are the good guys in the mind of a progressive,\u201d San Francisco Police Officers Association President Tony Montoya told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/san-francisco-prosecutors-quit-chesa-boudin-office-recall-joined\">Fox News<\/a>. \u201cChesa\u2019s good at the blame game.
