She <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/02\/pelosi-infrastructure-vote-pushed-end-of-october\/\">pinpointed<\/a> Oct. 31 as the new deadline for both bills in an Oct. 2 \u201cDear Colleagues\u201d letter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Following a morning meeting with President Joe Biden and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Pelosi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2021\/10\/22\/pelosi-huddles-with-biden-as-he-tries-to-strike-deal-with-sinema-manchin-516748\">described<\/a> herself to reporters as \u201cvery optimistic\u201d that the bills would pass within the new time-frame.<\/p>\n<p>During his Thursday town hall, hosted by CNN, Biden responded, \u201cI think so,\u201d to Anderson Cooper\u2019s question about whether he was \u201cclose\u201d to a deal on both bills.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was a senator for 370 years, and I was relatively good at putting together deals,\u201d the president <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/21\/biden-agenda-cost-zero-trillion-dollar-cnn-townhall\/\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, Biden brushed off Cooper\u2019s question about whether or not the deal would be in place before he attends the Glasgow Climate Summit, which begins on Oct. 31.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s like me asking you, \u2018are you sure your next show is going to be a success,&#8217;\u201d he responded, to audience laughter.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the optimism, Democrats have not agreed on a top-line number for the Build Back Better Act, which they hope to pass through the budget reconciliation process. Biden has said in meetings with members that he expects the bill to cost around $2 trillion, a number that is above the limit set by Democratic West Virginia Sen. Joe <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/30\/joe-manchin-1-5-trillion-top-line-spending-number-reconciliation-joe-biden-wants-more\/\">Manchin<\/a> and below the floor set by the left-wing Congressional Progressive <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/19\/pramila-jayapal-latest-reconciliation-offer-joe-biden\/\">Caucus (CPC)<\/a>. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/28\/steny-hoyer-debt-limit-reconciliation-senate-parliamentarian\/\">(RELATED: Top Democrat Admits Congress Can Raise Debt Limit Through Reconciliation.
