Bryant\u2019s attorneys wrote in a court filing that the county is seeking psychiatric evaluations for family members of other crash victims. Including \u201cfour teenagers, a 10-year-old child, and a 5-year-old kindergartener.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlaintiffs cannot claim that they are suffering from ongoing depression, anxiety and severe emotional distress and then balk at having to support their claims,\u201d the county wrote in a motion, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/us-news\/la-county-wants-vanessa-bryant-take-psych-evaluation-suit-over-n1281717\">according to NBC News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Attorneys for Bryant in their own court filing called the county\u2019s demands an attempt at \u201cscorched-earth discovery tactics designed to bully Plaintiffs into abandoning their pursuit of accountability.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The county, according to NBC, is arguing that it was the crash itself that caused Bryant emotional distress and not crash photographs leaked by police and paparazzi.<\/p>\n<p>In return, Bryant\u2019s attorneys argue that \u201cIt does not take an expert\u2014and it certainly does not take an involuntary eight-hour psychiatric examination\u2014for a jury to assess the nature and extent of the emotional distress caused by Defendants\u2019 misconduct.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In March, Insider reported, Bryant \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.insider.com\/vanessa-bryant-wins-case-obtain-names-officers-photographed-helicopter-crash-2021-3\">won a lawsuit to get the names of four officers<\/a>&nbsp;who allegedly took pictures of the crashed helicopter.\u201d She later posted the names of the officers on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>As The Daily Wire previously <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/vanessa-bryant-settles-wrongful-death-lawsuit-with-helicopter-company-involved-in-husbands-fatal-crash\">reported<\/a>, Bryant also won a wrongful death lawsuit in June against the helicopter company. In total, Bryant alleges that at least eight deputies took inappropriate photos of the crash with their cell phones. Bryant further alleges that the deputies who took photos were not directly involved in the investigation and therefore had no legitimate purpose for taking or disseminating the photos.\u201cIt is undisputed that only government personnel and one friend saw the photographs in question,\u201d Bryant\u2019s attorneys allege in their lawsuit. \u201cThere has been no public dissemination \u2013 nothing in the media, nothing on the Internet.\u201dFurther, the lawsuit states that another sheriff\u2019s deputy \u201cboasted\u201d to a local bartender about responding to the scene. This deputy showed photos of the crash that had been sent by another deputy. The photos showed Kobe Bryant\u2019s body as well as that of a young girl, according to the lawsuit.
