(Charles Dharapak\/AP Photo)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h5>OAN Newsroom<br \/>UPDATED 10:19 AM PT \u2013 Monday, October 18, 2021<\/h5>\n<p>According to former Defense Secretary Robert Gates, Joe Biden has \u201cgotten a lot wrong through the years.\u201d In an interview Sunday, the former official affirmed he still believes Biden has been wrong on nearly every foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Former Obama Defense Secretary Robert Gates says Joe Biden &#8220;has gotten a lot wrong&#8221; on foreign policy. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/sYQBjC9Xwp\">pic.twitter.com\/sYQBjC9Xwp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 RNC Research (@RNCResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1449895840340979713?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 18, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Gates specifically took aim at the Democrat over his handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal while calling it a \u201cbig mistake.\u201d He also suggested it would be very na\u00efve to assume things were not going to go downhill after the U.S. pulled out it\u2019s forces.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe (Biden) opposed every one of Ronald Reagan\u2019s military programs to contest the Soviet Union,\u201d explained the former defense secretary. \u201cHe opposed the first Gulf War. That list goes on. Now I will say that in the Obama administration, he and I obviously had significant differences over Afghanistan.
