(AP Photo\/Bob Christie, File)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h5>OAN Newsroom<br \/>UPDATED 11:23 AM PT \u2013 Friday, October 15, 2021<\/h5>\n<p>Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said the Department of Justice must investigate Facebook for encouraging violations at the U.S. border.<\/p>\n<p>Brnovich sent a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/532520112\/10-14-Brnovich-Letter-to-Garland#download&amp;from_embed\">letter<\/a> to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Thursday, explaining how Facebook is allowing posts that promote illegal entry into the U.S. In addition, Brnovich said Facebook was even providing instructions on how to be successful in crossing illegally.<\/p>\n<p>Brnovich said such actions undermine the rule of law and border security.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFacebook\u2019s policy of allowing posts promoting human smuggling and illegal entry into the United States to regularly reach its billions of users seriously undermines the rule of law,\u201d Brnovich said in his letter to Garland. \u201cThe company is a direct facilitator, and thus exacerbates, the catastrophe occurring at Arizona\u2019s southern border.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Today, our office asked the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate Facebook&#8217;s alleged facilitation of human smuggling at our border and to stop its active encouragement and facilitation of illegal entry. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/w8MIlGUCL6\">https:\/\/t.co\/w8MIlGUCL6<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mark Brnovich (@GeneralBrnovich) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GeneralBrnovich\/status\/1448773704075280388?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 14, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This comes after the tech giant claimed providing migrants with information could reduce their exploitation by human smugglers and cartels. Facebook said its policies were developed \u201cto ensure we were prohibiting content relating to the business of human smuggling but not interfering with people\u2019s ability to exercise their right to seek asylum, which is recognized in international law.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although, Brnovich says Facebook is a direct facilitator and contributing to Joe Biden\u2019s border crisis.
