Rodney Davis sent a letter Friday to the Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections Chairperson Cathy Woolard, demanding answers over allegations that now-fired workers shredded voter registration applications.<\/p>\n<p>Davis, the ranking member of the Committee on House Administration, asked in the letter what specific changes the Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections plans on making and how they plan on fixing the 300 allegedly destroyed ballots. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/12\/fulton-county-georgia-election-employees-fired-shred-voter-applications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Two Election Employees Fired For Allegedly Shredding Voter Applications In Georgia)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Daily Caller first obtained the letter, which mentions the two Fulton County, Georgia, workers who were fired after allegations surfaced that they shredded voter registration applications. The two unidentified workers <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/12\/fulton-county-georgia-election-employees-fired-shred-voter-applications\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">are accused of shredding<\/a> 300 municipal election-related ballots before the election, Fulton County Registration &amp; Elections Director Richard Barron <a href=\"https:\/\/fultoncountyga.gov\/news\/2021\/10\/11\/fulton-county-elections-director-announces-firing-of-two-workers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmerica has the best elections system in the world with multiple layers of checks and balances, but when voters hear about issues like this one in Fulton County, they become discouraged in our system and fearful their vote won\u2019t count so it\u2019s incredibly important to show voters that the problem has been fixed. Democrats don\u2019t like to talk about voter confidence as an important part of increasing voter participation, but it\u2019s critical to getting more people to vote,\u201d Davis told the Daily Caller.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you think your vote won\u2019t count, then it\u2019s unlikely you\u2019ll show up to the polls at all. Helping voters have confidence in our elections needs to be our top priority,\u201d Davis added. \u201cUnfortunately, this isn\u2019t the first time we\u2019ve seen serious issues in Fulton County and there clearly needs to be greater oversight of Georgia\u2019s largest county. I\u2019m glad this issue was caught and hope to hear from the county on how they plan to correct this problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ THE LETTER HERE:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger called for the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate in a Monday statement. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/02\/10\/georgia-fulton-county-fani-willis-investigation-georgia-election-donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Georgia Prosecutors Investigating Alleged 2020 Election Interference)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Davis asked for a response no later than Oct. 31, 2021.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Republican Illinois Rep.
