At the time of the alleged emails, Gruden was a color commentator for ESPN.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/disgusted-cheerleaders-demand-nfl-release-001808334.html\">Speaking<\/a> to The Daily Beast, cheerleaders from the Washington Football Team and the Raiders said&nbsp;\u201cthey were horrified by the revelations, but not surprised.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The images reportedly came from salacious videos made of the cheerleaders showing their nipples and private parts, first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/sports\/2020\/10\/16\/washington-cheerleaders-video-lawsuit\/\">reported<\/a> by The Washington Post, last year.<\/p>\n<p>In August 2020, the Post reported that the team \u201cproduced lewd videos out of outtakes from the cheerleaders\u2019 2008 and 2010 swimsuit calendar shoots that include partial nudity.\u201d Staffers were reportedly instructed to capture only \u201cthe good bits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dozens of cheerleaders sued over the videos and the lawsuits were eventually settled out of court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe NFL must do the right thing and make the sexual misconduct investigation of the WFT public AND hold Dan Snyder accountable for the history of serial sexual harassment within his organization,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/roger-goodell-nfl-washington-football-team-do-the-right-thing-for-women?recruiter=34257201&amp;utm_source=share_petition&amp;utm_medium=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=share_petition&amp;utm_term=70b355d4b12c45b0b467982ca8c397ca&amp;recruited_by_id=2db438d0-11d6-0130-6482-38ac6f16d25f\">reads<\/a> a petition created by Melanie Coburn, a Washington Football Team cheerleader and the team\u2019s marketing director.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese women aren\u2019t just on the literal sidelines,\u201d continues the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/roger-goodell-nfl-washington-football-team-do-the-right-thing-for-women?recruiter=34257201&amp;utm_source=share_petition&amp;utm_medium=twitter&amp;utm_campaign=share_petition&amp;utm_term=70b355d4b12c45b0b467982ca8c397ca&amp;recruited_by_id=2db438d0-11d6-0130-6482-38ac6f16d25f\">petition<\/a>, which has racked up more than 40,000 signatures as of Thursday. \u201cThey support local charities and visit veterans and sick children in local hospitals. They create incredible value through youth outreach programs and put their lives at risk on overseas military tours to engage with and honor our servicemen and women.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis cannot and must not stand. #NFLforwomensrights&nbsp;#WFTdotherightthing&nbsp;#evolvedontcancel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to The Daily Beast, Coburn said, \u201cIt\u2019s despicable, really, to see that there is more evidence of exploitation and violation of these cheerleaders who I worked very closely with.
