The figure represents the highest rate of inflation since at least December 2008, the earliest date analyzed in the report.<\/p>\n<p>Two of the biggest drivers of inflation, the report found, are food and gasoline.<\/p>\n<p>The Labor Department report is yet more troubling economic news for the Biden administration, which has faced increasing inflation for months. Nearly 80 percent of registered voters <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/poll-nearly-80-percent-of-voters-say-biden-responsible-for-inflation-spike\/\">blame<\/a> Biden for the spike, and some economists <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/economists-warn-stagflation-is-back\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">warn<\/a>&nbsp;that the president&#8217;s policies are worsening the problem.<\/p>\n<p>The administration also faces the <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/gas-prices-reach-6-year-high-amid-shortages\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">highest gas prices<\/a>&nbsp;in six years, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/biden-posts-worst-jobs-report-since-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">worst unemployment numbers<\/a> in a year.
