On Tuesday, Joe Biden\u2019s officials accused Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) and Gov. Greg Abbott (R-Texas) of \u201cputting politics ahead of public health\u201d by outlawing vaccine mandates.<\/p>\n<p>The White House also attempted to stir up COVID-19 fears to justify its mandates. Earlier on Monday, Abbott signed an executive order banning forced vaccinations by any entity in Texas, while DeSantis made a similar statement on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We must protect the jobs of Floridians and preserve the ability of Floridians to make their own decisions regarding what shots to take.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ron DeSantis (@GovRonDeSantis) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GovRonDeSantis\/status\/1447967858764439553?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 12, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Biden\u2019s officials have since threatened a federal crackdown.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe know that federal law overrides state law. I would note that earlier when we put out our guidance on the president\u2019s announcement about mandates several weeks ago, it made clear that again, as I said earlier, requirements are promulgated pursuant to federal law and supersede any contrary state or local law or ordinance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Both Abbott and DeSantis have said Biden\u2019s mandates amounted to an unlawful federal overreach.
