The hires rate decreased in large establishments with 250-999 employees,\u201d the JOLTS report noted.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"applewebdata:\/\/38cfc00d-a05a-4143-90c0-fe3525da2c54\/v\">Associated Press<\/a> admitted one reason for the increase in people quitting their jobs was the stimulus checks from the federal government, writing, \u201cLayoffs and lockdowns, combined with enhanced unemployment benefits and stimulus checks, gave many Americans the time and the financial cushion to rethink their careers.\u201d AP added, \u201cEmployers and business groups argue that the $300-per-week federal unemployment supplement gives recipients&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/pandemics-health-coronavirus-pandemic-business-9a76a15cf9e7d37076c91e5abeb1137b\">less incentive to look for work<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Just after August ended, on September 3 President Biden bragged:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"12\">\n<p><em>But despite the impact of the Delta variant \u2014 and I\u2019ll talk a little more about that in a minute \u2014 what we\u2019re seeing is an economic recovery that is durable and strong. The Biden plan is working.&nbsp; We\u2019re getting results.&nbsp; America is on the move again.&nbsp; And today\u2019s revision of previous month job gains, with the revision of the July numbers \u2014 this report means that we have been adding an average of 750,000 jobs per month, on average, during the past three months.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Biden admitted, \u201cI know people were looking, and I was hoping, for a higher number.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The same day Biden was boasting that the economy was \u201cdurable and strong,\u201d The Daily Wire <a href=\"applewebdata:\/\/38cfc00d-a05a-4143-90c0-fe3525da2c54\/v\">noted<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"17.862332695985\">\n<p><em>The U.S. economy floundered last month as job growth fell sharply and missed economists\u2019 expectations by nearly half-a-million new jobs. The economy added 235,000 jobs in August, far below economists\u2019 predictions of 720,000 and a sharp drop in job growth from the previous two months when the economy added 962,000 jobs in June and another 1.1 million in July, according to Department of Labor&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/news.release\/empsit.nr0.htm\">data<\/a>&nbsp;released Friday.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThat is what one would call a big, big miss,\u201d CNN White House correspondent Phil Mattingly noted.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>September showed Biden should have been more worried.&nbsp;\u201cThe economy created 194,000 jobs in September, the smallest gain since December 2020 and down from 366,000 jobs added in August,\u201d The Wall Street Journal&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/september-jobs-report-unemployment-rate-2021-11633641477\">reported<\/a>. \u201cMany workers gave up a job search and exited the labor force last month.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/2021\/09\/will-tens-of-millions-of-new-monthly-benefit-checks-be-joe-bidens-legacy\/\">National Review<\/a> wrote on September 20, \u201cOne of the key questions facing Congress this month is whether to continue this deluge of government checks.
