The duo was reported Friday morning and terminated the same day after fellow employees reported them, according to authorities.<\/p>\n<p>But state law requires ballots to be preserved for 24 months after the election, according to Raffensperger.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cElections are the most important function of our government,\u201d Fulton County Commission Chairman Robb Pitts said. \u201cWe have committed to transparency and integrity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Under Georgia\u2019s new election law, Raffensperger is participating in a review that \u201ccould lead to a replacement of the leadership of Fulton County\u2019s elections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The incident is currently under review by Raffensperger\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p>Raffensperger has been outspoken against Fulton County\u2019s alleged election mishandling, telling the <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/14\/raffensperger-georgia-county-clean-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Daily Caller News Foundation<\/a> (DCNF) in July he would call for the State Election Board to instill \u201cnew authority\u201d if the county \u201cdoesn\u2019t take action to clean their own house.\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/02\/10\/georgia-fulton-county-fani-willis-investigation-georgia-election-donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Georgia Prosecutors Investigating Alleged 2020 Election Interference)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>His comments came after it was reported that roughly 200 ballots were originally scanned twice before being corrected in the recount for the 2020 presidential election.
