Speaking on CNN\u2019s State of the Union on Sunday, McAuliffe suggested the theory has never been taught in Virginia and was only used as a political talking point for division.<\/p>\n<p>McAuliffe\u2019s comments followed earlier this summer when he referred to critical race theory as a \u201cright-wing conspiracy theory.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really hate to see the division, the hatred. We\u2019re putting these children in this horrible position,\u201d he stated. \u201cLet\u2019s just be clear, we don\u2019t teach critical race theory.
