Furthermore, a wave of insults between members and protests by left-wing activist groups have left the two sides mistrustful of each other.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats hold a three vote margin in the House, and public criticism of the reconciliation bill\u2019s key provisions, as well as its legislative process, imperil their ability to pass it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe House should not hold the completed bill hostage while we continue working on other important legislation,\u201d Democratic Virginia Rep. Jared Golden wrote Thursday in a similar <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pressherald.com\/2021\/10\/07\/jared-golden-build-back-better-bill-needs-more-work-to-get-my-vote\/\">op-ed<\/a> for the Portland Press-Herald. \u201cThe bipartisan infrastructure bill has already gone through this process. I continue to support getting it to the president\u2019s desk as soon as possible, and I won\u2019t trade my vote for that bill for any reconciliation proposal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Spanberger and Golden are taking a similar position to Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, who <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/02\/inexcusable-kyrsten-sinema-accuses-house-democrats-holding-infrastructure-bill-hostage\/\">said<\/a> on Oct. 2 that she \u201cwould never agree to any bargain that would hold one piece of legislation hostage to another.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sinema has been frequently targeted by both the Biden administration and left-wing activists for her perceived unwillingness to negotiate on the reconciliation package. Sinema has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2021\/10\/09\/sinema-prescription-drug-plan-democrats-515749?nname=playbook&amp;nid=0000014f-1646-d88f-a1cf-5f46b7bd0000&amp;nrid=f84ae832-d366-4e0d-a63d-13763d6cf34b&amp;nlid=630318\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">expressed<\/a> concern about a drug pricing scheme that CPC members have said is necessary for their support. After she was <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/04\/not-legitimate-protest-sinema-responds-to-left-wing-bathroom-harassers\/\">followed<\/a> into an Arizona State University bathroom by left-wing activists, CPC ally and Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/07\/bernie-sanders-refused-condemn-bathroom-protesters-sinema\/\">refused<\/a> to sign onto a statement condemning their tactics, demanding that the statement include a condemnation of Sinema\u2019s stance on the drug price controls. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/10\/kyrsten-sinema-arizona-activists-birddog-marathon\/\"><strong>(RELATED: Activists Plan To \u2018Birddog\u2019 Reconciliation Holdout Kyrsten Sinema\u2014While She\u2019s Running The Boston Marathon)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>During a Wednesday press conference, Sanders repeatedly bashed Sinema and Democratic West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin while <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/07\/bernie-sanders-accuses-kyrsten-sinema-joe-manchin-sabotage-infrastructure-package\/\">accusing<\/a> them of \u201csabotag[ing] what 48 want, what the president of the United States wants.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIs protecting working families and cutting childhood poverty an \u2018entitlement?\u2019\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n<p>Sanders also demanded that Manchin clarify whether or not he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/biden-agenda-sanders-manchin-senate-democrats\/2021\/10\/06\/96fdee98-26e3-11ec-a6ad-9ee7deda7f34_story.html\">believes<\/a> \u201cthat we face an existential threat regarding climate change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In an effort to sell the reconciliation package, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/06\/white-house-touts-social-spending-bill-in-moderate-dem-districts\/\">dispatched<\/a> Vice President Kamala Harris, Education Secretary Miguel Cardona, and House and Urban Development Secretary Marcia Fudge to key swing districts on Oct. 6-8. Harris appeared in Montclair, New Jersey, while Cardona visited south Texas.<\/p>\n<p>Recent <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/29\/poll-build-back-better-act-polling-swing-districts\/\">data<\/a> from the American Action Network (AAN) suggests that the Build Back Better Act is less popular in some of the swing districts that will decide control of the House of Representatives in the 2022 midterms.
