In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/federal-officials-close-review-officer-involved-shooting-jacob-blake\">press release<\/a> on Friday, the DOJ said it would not pursue federal criminal civil rights charges against Kenosha, Wisconsin police officer Rusten Sheskey.<\/p>\n<p>In late August 2020, Blake was shot several times outside of his girlfriend\u2019s home after his girlfriend reportedly called 911 over a domestic dispute. Sheskey allegedly began firing his weapon after seeing a knife fall out of Blake\u2019s pocket.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Federal Officials Close Review of the Officer-Involved Shooting of Jacob Blake<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rtMGE5qbYT\">https:\/\/t.co\/rtMGE5qbYT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 DOJ Civil Rights (@CivilRights) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CivilRights\/status\/1446567770871799811?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 8, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The DOJ affirmed their investigators analyzed copious amounts of evidence and found Sheskey did not violate any civil rights law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe department makes this decision because the evidence obtained is insufficient to prove that the KPD officer willfully used excessive force,\u201d the DOJ explained in a released statement. \u201c\u2026Accordingly, the review of this incident has been closed without a federal prosecution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ added representatives of the Blake family were informed of the decision to close the review case.<\/p>\n<h4>MORE NEWS:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/2-staff-members-killed-at-md-senior-living-facility-suspect-in-custody\/\">2 Staff Members Killed At Md.
