On Wednesday, Russian authorities said they fired five senior prison officials amid investigations into a prison just southeast of Moscow.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities said a prisoner rights group was behind exposing the video evidence of the crimes, including a massive leak of documents and photos to a website. The founder of the group\u2019s website said abuses are taking place in many different parts of the country and authorities are hiding the truth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt first, it was hard to believe when we first saw all the depth of what was happening because we might guess how it works, but that it works in such cynical, methodical and prudent ways under control of the prison administration, with all workers knowing, covering and storing videos taken on work dashboard cameras.
