Marsha Blackburn questioned China expert Gordon Chang on how the U.S. should stand against Chinese aggression toward Taiwan during the Wednesday episode of her YouTube show, \u201cUnmuted With Marsha.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe president needs to get behind his desk in the Oval Office and publicly warn the Chinese and say that the U.S. will defend Taiwan,\u201d Chang said in the interview, obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller. Chinese aggression toward the democratic island has ramped up in recent weeks, with the People\u2019s Liberation Army Air Force <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/10\/04\/china-52-warplanes-taiwan-adiz-incursion\/\">flying<\/a> a record 52 planes over Taiwan on Oct. 3.<\/p>\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Unmuted With Marsha: Gordon Chang\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DS19RnGiWxY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that we need to actually have our navy have port calls in Chinese ports with our Arleigh Burke destroyers,\u201d Chang said, urging a military response to Chinese aggression.<\/p>\n<p>Blackburn suggested that \u201cBiden\u2019s weakness, and the way he acted in Afghanistan\u201d encouraged Chinese aggression.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat kind of effect does that have on this China aggression that we are seeing?\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Chang agreed, saying that Chinese President Xi Jinping and other leaders \u201cperceive the Biden administration as incapable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know this. We don\u2019t have to speculate. As Kabul was falling, we saw their propaganda narratives. And these two narratives, one of them was that because the U.S. couldn\u2019t deal with the Taliban, it had no hope of countering a magnificent China,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd the second narrative was that, when Beijing invaded, and they sort of used the when, not the if, that Taiwan would fall in a couple days, and the U.S. would not come to help.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Biden and his administration have repeatedly argued that leaving Afghanistan would allow the U.S. to pivot to a great power-focused foreign policy in countering China.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is nothing that China or Russia would rather have \u2014 would want more \u2014 in this competition than [for the] U.S. to be bogged down another decade in Afghanistan,\u201d Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/31\/biden-china-afghanistan-russia\/\">said<\/a> on Aug. 31.<\/p>\n<p>Critics of Biden\u2019s withdrawal have <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/26\/joe-biden-foreign-policy-afghanistan-china\/\">argued<\/a> that maintaining a presence at Bagram Air Base, 40 miles from Kabul, would have allowed the U.S. to more effectively combat China in the Near East. China will also attempt to access Afghan mineral rights through its New Silk Road international development initiative. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/08\/bagram-afghanistan-china-kabul-occupy\/\">(RELATED: China Reportedly Mulls Takeover Of Bagram Air Base After Hasty US Withdrawal)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cCommunist China is an authoritarian regime set on global domination. Beijing\u2019s takeover of Hong Kong was just a small step in China\u2019s plan to expand their empire,\u201d Blackburn told the Daily Caller. \u201cNow, Communist China has turned its sights towards Taiwan. The United States must stand strong against communism and China\u2019s aggression.
