He now says those comments were misinterpreted, and he believes Americans should hold their normal Christmas gatherings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe best way to assure that we\u2019ll be in good shape as we get into the winter would be to get more and more people vaccinated,\u201d Fauci said Monday on CNN. \u201cThat was misinterpreted as my saying we can\u2019t spend Christmas with our families, which was absolutely not the case. I will be spending Christmas with my family, I encourage people, particularly the vaccinated people who are protected, to have a good, normal Christmas with your family.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" readability=\"9.3852459016393\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Dr. Fauci: \u201cI will be spending Christmas with my family. Let\u2019s focus like a laser on continuing to get those cases down.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fauci\u2019s statements come amid a resurgent COVID-19 pandemic.
