(Photo by Win McNamee\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h5>OAN Newsroom<br \/>UPDATED 12:02 PM PT \u2013 Sunday, October 3, 2021<\/h5>\n<p>Joe Biden signed a highway funding extension into law on Saturday after it was unanimously approved by the Senate. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/117th-congress\/house-bill\/5434\/text\">The measure<\/a> was previously approved by the House on Friday.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>\u201cHR 5434, an act to provide extension of federal aid highway, highway safety and transit programs, and for other purposes.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The move prevents around 3,700 workers from being furloughed for the next 30 days.&nbsp;Funding for highway construction programs had initially been incorporated into the $1.2 trillion infrastructure package.
