This bill will be paid for.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u2013 House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)<\/span><\/p>\n<div readability=\"6\">\n<div id=\"attachment_291538\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"32\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-291538\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-291538\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Stefani-ReynoldsBloombergContributorGetty-Images2.jpg\" alt width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2021\/09\/Stefani-ReynoldsBloombergContributorGetty-Images2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2021\/09\/Stefani-ReynoldsBloombergContributorGetty-Images2-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-291538\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Stefani Reynolds\/Bloomberg\/Contributor\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><b>The Two Bills<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Two bills facing debate in Washington, D.C. include the infrastructure bill \u2014 a trillion-dollar measure funding roads, bridges, airports, etc \u2014 and a second social spending bill worth $3.5 trillion.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>That bill would include many of Biden\u2019s campaign promises, including massive increases in entitlement spending, climate change measures, free childcare and expanded paid family leave.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Debate<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>The $1 trillion infrastructure measure passed the Senate with bipartisan support, but now it\u2019s being held up by Democrats in the House who say they won\u2019t support it unless they get certain assurances regarding the separate $3.5 trillion social spending measure.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Even though House Republicans were initially open to supporting the infrastructure bill, nearly everyone in the party is now opposed because it\u2019s being tied to the larger, Liberal social spending bill.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Democrat Disagreement<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Even without Republican support, the social spending measure can still pass, thanks to budget reconciliation, an elaborate process which allows Democrats to bypass a Republican filibuster if they can come to an agreement on the legislation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Moderate Democrats say the cost is too high, but Progressives say it isn\u2019t enough.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Democratic Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) said the $3.5 trillion price tag was \u201cfiscal insanity\u201d and refused to support anything more than $1.5 trillion. Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) also said $3.5 trillion was too high for her to support.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Progressives want more spending \u2013 as high as $6 trillion \u2013 and told Speaker Pelosi they have fifty members who pledged to vote against the infrastructure bill unless they get their say on the social spending bill.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>On Thursday night, House Democrats delayed a vote on the infrastructure bill.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_291539\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"32\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-291539\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-291539\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/Brandon-BellStaffGetty-Images2.jpg\" alt width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2021\/09\/Brandon-BellStaffGetty-Images2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2021\/09\/Brandon-BellStaffGetty-Images2-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-291539\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Brandon Bell\/Staff\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>2) Biden\u2019s New DACA Initiative&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>The Topline: <\/b><span>The Biden administration has proposed a new version of President Obama\u2019s controversial DACA order which exempted some illegal immigrants from deportation. After a federal judge struck down the original order, saying it was unconstitutional, President Biden has put forward a new version.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The New DACA<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) allowed most young people who came to the country illegally as minors to stay in the United States, but the policy has remained in legal limbo for most of its existence.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Biden administration has proposed a new version of the program, turning a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dhs.gov\/xlibrary\/assets\/s1-exercising-prosecutorial-discretion-individuals-who-came-to-us-as-children.pdf\"><span>June 2012 memo<\/span><\/a><span> on the order from Janet Napolitano into a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2021\/09\/28\/2021-20898\/deferred-action-for-childhood-arrivals#footnote-8-p53737\"><span>federal regulation<\/span><\/a><span>.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Criteria<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>According to the rule, anyone between the ages of 15 and 40 can apply for DACA status if they meet specific criteria:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>The person had to come to the U.S. illegally before the age of 16.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>The person had to continuously reside in the U.S. since June 15, 2007, and prove he or she was \u201cphysically present in the United States\u201d on June 15, 2012 \u2014 the date the original DACA policy was announced.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>The person has to be honorably discharged as a veteran; or have completed a high school education, or currently be enrolled in some kind of schooling, including vocational education.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>The person cannot have been convicted of a felony, a \u201cserious\u201d misdemeanor, or \u201cthree or more other,\u201d separate misdemeanors.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>Someone younger than 15 can apply if they are currently in removal proceedings or have a final deportation order.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Numbers: <\/b><span>Over 825,000 people received DACA status between 2012 and this July, but the number of those eligible for deferral is estimated to be at least <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2018\/02\/13\/who-daca-dreamers-and-how-many-here\/333045002\/\"><span>1.8 million<\/span><\/a><span>.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Two Sides<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Supporters say DACA recipients came to the United States by no fault of their own; in many cases, this is the only country they\u2019ve ever known; and they will contribute to the economy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Opponents say many DACA recipients came here as unaccompanied minors with the help of human smugglers \u2014 and DACA will encourage others to do the same.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Key Point: <\/b><span>The number of unaccompanied minors has skyrocketed from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/assets\/documents\/2019-Mar\/bp-total-monthly-uacs-sector-fy2010-fy2018.pdf\"><span>16,000<\/span><\/a><span> in 2011 \u2014 the year before DACA \u2014 to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/newsroom\/stats\/southwest-land-border-encounters-by-component\"><span>more than 130,000<\/span><\/a><span> this year.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Remember: <\/b><span>DACA only stays deportation; The firm is often paid millions of dollars for taking on work fighting parents on behalf of the district.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Parents have claimed their special-needs children were being systematically abused by school staff, with so many alleged victims that it turned into a class action lawsuit. They claim teachers would sometimes assault special needs students or leave them alone in rooms rather than educate them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Details<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>The allegations include putting a nonverbal autistic child in solitary confinement 700<\/span> <span>times, shoving a bullied eight-year old into a cardboard box and telling him it was his \u201csafe space,\u201d and putting a child in a chokehold.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Parents tried to advocate for their children, but the school district paid $700 an hour to the law firm, which tried unsuccessfully to get the parents\u2019 lawsuit dismissed, and has been fighting them since.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Election Point: <\/b><span>Teachers unions are one of the biggest funders of McAuliffe\u2019s Virginia gubernatorial campaign, having donated nearly a million dollars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Daily Wire Exclusive<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>A mom of one of the special-needs students <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/fcps-sues-special-ed-parents-for-possessing-embarrassing-records-mcauliffe\"><span>filed<\/span><\/a><span> a Freedom of Information Act request for the school system\u2019s legal bills.
