Val Verde County \u201cwitnessed the flood of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/texas-del-rio-migrants-camp-cleared-30000\">30,000<\/a>&nbsp;migrants earlier this month,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/border-counties-to-sue-biden-for-failure-to-enforce-the-laws\">Fox News<\/a> noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause Border Patrol facilities were already over capacity, they had to place the illegal immigrants&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/juliorosas\/2021\/09\/20\/del-rio-mayor-ignored-by-biden-as-border-town-is-overwhelmed-by-huge-influx-of-illegal-immigrants-n2596148\">underneath the international bridge<\/a>, resulting in third-world conditions while temperatures continued to reach 100 degrees every day,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/juliorosas\/2021\/09\/30\/border-counties-vote-to-sue-joe-biden-for-failing-to-protect-southern-border-n2596726\">Townhall<\/a> noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve talked about immigration reform for as long as I can remember,\u201d Val Verde County Commissioner Beau Nettleton stated. \u201cBoth parties have had control of Washington at one point or another over the last 20 years, and we have failed to do anything about it other than create the mess that we have today. It is inexcusable, and it is time that we get together with other counties and cities along the border and stand up and do something.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t have the answer to whether a lawsuit solves the problem, but it draws attention to this problem,\u201d he continued. \u201cThey took the same oath of office that I did; it was to uphold the Constitution and the laws of the United States and the laws of the state of Texas. That was the oath that I took. They took the same oath; they need to comply with that oath and do their job and stop this mess that\u2019s going on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am all for people coming to this country legally; that\u2019s what built this country,\u201d he asserted. \u201cThis is not a legal process. This is not the right way to do it. To put these communities \u2014 we had 50% of the population of this city was sitting underneath our international bridge. How is a town of this size, with our tax base, supposed to deal with that problem when it wasn\u2019t our problem to start with? It is completely and utterly inexcusable that we have found ourselves in this mess. But right now \u2026 &nbsp;we\u2019re the center and the whole entire world is watching us and it is our chance to stand up and do something, and making a statement and make a point, that enough is enough. This needs to end. I mean, it\u2019s just difficult.
