The Pakistani Cricket Board criticized the pullout, claiming in a statement that it had made \u201cfoolproof security arrangements for all visiting teams,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/09\/17\/sport\/new-zealand-pakistan-cricket-tour-cancellation-spt-intl\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CNN<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Following news of the pullout, some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ishmal.butt.169\/posts\/412558753556113\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AWjamalfc\/status\/1438867794620293131\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Twitter users<\/a> have been sharing an image that shows dozens of vehicles filled with armed men, claiming it shows a Pakistani security detail the country provided to the New Zealand team on a previous occasion. \u201cThe security provided to NewZland team and still they doubted on the security,\u201d reads the caption of one version shared on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>However, Check Your Fact discovered through a reverse image search that the image is from 2019 and shows the Sri Lankan cricket team surrounded by Pakistani security, not the New Zealand team. The picture is featured in a 2019 article from <a href=\"https:\/\/tamil.news18.com\/news\/sports\/cricket-high-level-security-to-srilankan-cricket-team-at-karachi-vjr-211463.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tamil.news18.com<\/a>, a Tamil language news channel, with a description that indicates it shows security for the team from Sri Lanka. \u201cExtreme Security for the Sri Lankan team that went to Karachi ground,\u201d reads a translated version of the article\u2019s headline.<\/p>\n<p>Check Your Fact also found a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=W2HKQWeoBxg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2019 YouTube video<\/a> shared by the verified account of the Sri Lankan cricket team that shows visuals similar to the one shared in the Facebook post.
