Mark Milley also seemed to slough off responsibility for the civilian evacuation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just want to be clear \u2013 we\u2019re talking about two different missions,\u201d Milley told members of Congress. \u201cThe retrograde of troops\u2026that is complete by mid-July, and that was done, actually, without any significant incident. And that\u2019s the handover of 11 bases, the bringing out of a lot of equipment \u2014 that was done under the command of Gen. Miller.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNoncombatant evacuation operation is different,\u201d Milley said. \u201cNoncombat operation \u2013 that was done under conditions of great volatility, great violence, great threat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s a different operation,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd I think, that, in the first two days as we saw, were not only chaotic, but violent and high-risk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A suicide bomber, who made it past Taliban checkpoints to an HKIA gate where the U.S. military was processing evacuees managed to kill more than a hundred people, including 13 U.S. soldiers.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Daily Wire is one of America\u2019s fastest-growing conservative media companies and counter-cultural outlets for news, opinion, and entertainment.
