But the Beijing health officials did not explain how they would carry that plan out, the publication noted \u2014 whether through restricting access to abortions or by providing more contraceptives to women.<\/p>\n<p>The country\u2019s birthrate hit its lowest point since 1961 last year, according to the Post, and Bejing officials announced in May that married couples would be permitted to have three children rather than a maximum of two.<\/p>\n<p>China <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2015\/10\/30\/world\/asia\/china-end-one-child-policy.html\">lifted<\/a> its one-child policy in 2015. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2020\/08\/18\/forced-abortions-kill-newborns-infanticide-china-uighur\/\">(RELATED: Chinese Hospitals Killed Newborns, Forced Late Term Abortions To Eradicate Uighurs, Doctor Says)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis isn\u2019t a new policy.
