They don\u2019t know what Joe Manchin wants. They don\u2019t know what his bottom line is and they don\u2019t know what her bottom line is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPolitically in Arizona I think that\u2019s why people like her so much. Anecdotally, conservatives in my life really like her because she\u2019s holding the line for conservatives in a lot of ways,\u201d McCain replied.<\/p>\n<p>She went on to note that in states like West Virginia in particular, the home state of Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, the electorate would not vote for a Democrat running further to the left. <strong><a class=\"text-black\" href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/06\/07\/meghan-mccain-attacks-manchin-democrats-rather-republican\/\">(RELATED: Meghan McCain Says Attacks On Manchin Suggest Democrats Would \u2018Rather Have A Republican\u2019 In His Seat)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf it\u2019s not him, it\u2019s going to be a Republican. So this distaste and this outward hostility towards moderates in the Democratic Party surprises me,\u201d McCain continued. \u201cI also was shocked by seeing Senator Booker talking about sort of openly this distrust between progressives and moderates, how the Democratic Party ultimately threads the needle, I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McCain then turned to address Biden, pointing out the fact that he had run his presidential campaign on the idea that he was a moderate who could bring Americans together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe ran and won with the help of independents, centrists, Trump-wary Republicans. He\u2019s not governing as one.
