Text in the image reads, \u201cBREAKING \u2013 Telegram announced that Apple will remove the Telegram app from their phones without their joint notice. Telegram announced that to prevent this, apply the mentioned settings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The post\u2019s claim, however, doesn\u2019t hold up under scrutiny. Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/s\/durov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">has not mentioned<\/a> an upcoming move by Apple to that effect on his verified Telegram channel, nor has the app announced such a thing on <a href=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/blog\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">its news blog<\/a>. A spokesperson for Telegram also confirmed to Check Your Fact that the company has not announced that Apple is removing its app from the App Store.<\/p>\n<p>Durov <a href=\"https:\/\/telegram-store.com\/catalog\/en\/channels\/durov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announced<\/a> Sept. 20 that an <a href=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/blog\/chat-themes-interactive-emoji-read-receipts\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">update<\/a> for Telegram \u201cis out now after having been finally approved by Apple.\u201d Apple hasn\u2019t announced in any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/newsroom\/archive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">press releases<\/a> that it will be removing Telegram from iPhones. Check Your Fact reached out to Apple for comment and will update this article if a response is provided.<\/p>\n<p>The screen grabs of the various pages in iPhone settings that are visible in the Facebook post appear to show steps users can take to engage a <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/HT201304\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">certain parental control<\/a> on the device.&nbsp; The \u201cDeleting Apps\u201d control prevents children from being able to delete apps from an iPhone, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/HT201304\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Apple\u2019s support website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/developer.apple.com\/support\/app-store-improvements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">support page<\/a> on the Apple developer website states that if an app has been removed from the App Store, users who have downloaded it on their iPhones may still be able to use it.&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/09\/10\/fact-check-denzel-washington-democrat-elites-blackmailed-liking-donald-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Did Denzel Washington Say \u2018Democrat Elites\u2019 Blackmailed Him For Liking Donald Trump?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While there is no record of Telegram recently announcing Apple will remove its app from iPhones, the encrypted messaging app did get temporarily removed from the App Store in 2018 due to \u201cinappropriate content,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2018\/2\/1\/16958990\/telegram-apple-app-store-removal-inappropriate-content\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Verge<\/a> reported.
