On Friday however, a conflict came to light when the NBA\u2019s Golden State Warriors Player Andrew Wiggins request for religious exemption from the COVID-19 vaccine was denied as he was forbidden to play in the team\u2019s home arena.<\/p>\n<p>The San Francisco Department of Public Health ruled despite a religious or medical exemption, those unvaccinated could not enter the Chase Center Facility. The NBA said they could not overrule the city\u2019s vaccination mandate for individuals to enter the Chase Arena, which has resulted in Wiggins ineligibility to play in home games for the Golden State Warriors until he could meet the city\u2019s requirements.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the ruling, his decision to abstain from the vaccination has remained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u201dI don\u2019t really see myself getting it anytime soon unless I\u2019m forced to somehow,\u201d he stated. \u201cOther than that, I\u2019m good.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The NBA says it has reviewed and denied Andrew Wiggins\u2019 request for an exemption from the COVID-19 vaccine on religious grounds. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/BUgkM2MmTF\">pic.twitter.com\/BUgkM2MmTF<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Marc Stein (@TheSteinLine) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheSteinLine\/status\/1441550207724834824?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 24, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Over in the National Football League, players have been forced to get the vaccine just to be permitted to hang out with teammates outside of practice time due to the severley strict guidelines. One player on the Las Vegas Raiders, Denzel Perryman, had no intention of getting the vaccine until he became fed up from the restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLike I said though, when you\u2019re not vaccinated, there\u2019s a lot of things you can\u2019t do. I don\u2019t know if you\u2019ve noticed, you can\u2019t go home. You have to come back here on your off day to test,\u201d he explained. \u201cOn a bye week, I\u2019d have to be here every day and test and not go somewhere when I want to go out. It\u2019s those little things like that that play a role.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the major leagues, baseball teams could see the field without key members as the MLB recently informed clubs if players were participating in the Arizona fall league, they must be vaccinated.
