The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/media\/releases\/2021\/p0924-booster-recommendations-.html\">agency announced<\/a> on Friday, it\u2019s recommending booster shots for individuals 65-years of age and older, people who work in high-risk environments and living situations, among others.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also advising boosters for individuals with underlying medical conditions who are 50 and older. While Director Rochelle Walensky has said those who self-attest to being eligible will receive booster shots, but did not further clarify the CDC\u2019s vetting process.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">HHS is focused on staying ahead of the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/virus?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#virus<\/a> by making sure people have the most protection against <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/COVID19?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#COVID19<\/a> infection, severe illness and death.
