Select Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson argued each of the four men were in communication with the White House \u201con or in the days leading up to the January 6th insurrection.\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/21\/liz-cheney-agrees-nancy-pelosi-rejecting-two-republicans-jim-jordan-jim-banks-january-6-select-committee\/\"><strong>(RELATED: Liz Cheney Says She Agrees With Speaker Pelosi On Rejecting Two Republicans For The Jan. 6 Select Committee)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn letters to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, former White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications Daniel Scavino, former Defense Department official Kashyap Patel, and former Trump advisor Stephen Bannon, Chairman Thompson instructed the witnesses to produce materials and appear at depositions in the weeks ahead,\u201d the committee statement read.<\/p>\n<p>The statement alleged that three of the men potentially contributed to the events of Jan. 6 by publicizing and supporting Trump\u2019s claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen. The fourth, Patel, was reportedly involved in the Pentagon\u2019s reaction to the riot.<\/p>\n<p>The committee is tasked with investigating the facts and causes of the Jan. 6 Capitol riots as well as \u201cissues relating to the peaceful transfer of power.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7237953\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"43\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7237953\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>WASHINGTON, DC \u2013 JULY 01: U.S. Rep. (Photo by Alex Wong\/Getty Images)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The subpoenas are the first major action since the committee asked telecom companies to <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/30\/january-6-committee-capitol-riot-subpoenas-house-republicans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">preserve the cell phone records of 11 Republicans<\/a> who participated in the \u201cStop the Steal\u201d rally.<\/p>\n<p>The 11 Republicans include Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert, Georgia Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Jody Hice, Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, Arizona Reps. Andy Biggs and Paul Gosar, Alabama Rep. Mo Brooks, North Carolina Rep. Madison Cawthorn, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert and Pennsylvania Rep. Scott Perry.<\/p>\n<p>The committee is expected to make the same records requests for members of Trump\u2019s family.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic California Rep.
