Since then, several agencies, including the FBI and Florida state law enforcement have been searching for Laundrie in the 24,000-acre Carlton nature preserve.<\/p>\n<p>Brian Laundrie is considered a \u201cperson of interest\u201d in Petito\u2019s death, but the FBI added on Thursday that they were seeking Laundrie in connection with \u201cbank fraud\u201d in Wyoming, where he and Petito were last seen together.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn September 22, 2021, the U.S. District Court of Wyoming issued a federal arrest warrant for Brian Christopher Laundrie pursuant to a Federal Grand Jury indictment related to Mr. Laundrie\u2019s activities following the death of Gabrielle Petito,\u201d the FBI said on Twitter. \u201cWe urge individuals with knowledge of Mr. Laundrie\u2019s role in this matter or his current whereabouts to contact the FBI.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\" readability=\"10.334384858044\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">On September 22, 2021, the U.S. District Court of Wyoming issued a federal arrest warrant for Brian Christopher Laundrie pursuant to a Federal Grand Jury indictment related to Mr. Laundrie\u2019s activities following the death of Gabrielle Petito. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/SSrBVbAeBs\">pic.twitter.com\/SSrBVbAeBs<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 FBI Denver (@FBIDenver) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FBIDenver\/status\/1441155529393389568?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 23, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The warrant, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/527171224\/Federal-Warrant#fullscreen&amp;from_embed\">which is available to the public<\/a>, alleges that, between August 1st and September 30th, Laundrie used a Capital One bank debit card and a stolen personal identification number (PIN) to obtain \u201cthings of value aggregating to $1000 or more\u201d from select accounts. It is not clear whether those accounts belong to Gabby Petito.<\/p>\n<p>The warrant also notes that the FBI is allowed to arrest Laundrie, but that they are still seeking information in connection with Petito\u2019s disappearance and death. Gabby Petito and Laundrie were seen several times in mid-August and, on at least one occasion, were involved in a \u201cdomestic disturbance.\u201d A witness account that emerged earlier this week indicated that Laundrie and Petito were spotted shortly before Petito\u2019s disappearance at a restaurant in Wyoming.<\/p>\n<p>Petito\u2019s parents say they last heard from their daughter in late August. They received several text messages from Petito\u2019s phone between August 30th and September 1st, but do not believe the texts came from Gabby. Laundrie returned home to Florida, without Petito on September 1st and Petito\u2019s parents filed a missing persons report on September 11th.<\/p>\n<p>Remains, now confirmed to be Petito, were discovered in Grand Teton National Park over the weekend. In a preliminary report issued Tuesday, a coroner ruled Petito\u2019s death a homicide.<\/p>\n<p>Laundrie\u2019s parents, the last to see him, \u201cclaim he\u2019s also missing,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/gabby-petito-warrant-fbi-brian-laundrie\">per Fox News<\/a>. \u201cNorth Port law enforcement officers are continuing their search for any signs of the 23-year-old in an area of the Mabry Carlton Jr. Memorial Reserve, not far from Laundrie\u2019s family home and where parents told authorities they believe that\u2019s where he is.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Laundrie\u2019s attorney issued a statement shortly following the FBI announcement noting that it is his&nbsp;\u201cunderstanding that the arrest warrant for Brian Laundrie is related to activities occurring after the death of Gabby Petito and not related to her actual demise.
