Just 6.4% receiving the payments said they would work less or change jobs, and of those a majority were parents with infants or toddlers.<\/p>\n<p>The payments, passed in March as a part of President Joe Biden\u2019s $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package, allot monthly payments of $3,600 and $3,000 for each child under six and from ages six to 17, respectively. The payments slowly begin to phase out for couples making over $150,000 and singles making over $112,500. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/07\/14\/child-tax-credit-joe-biden-american-rescue-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Who\u2019s Eligible For The Child Tax Credit, And How Much Could They Get?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_7143519\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\" readability=\"33\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-7143519\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">President Joe Biden signs the $1.9 trillion COVID relief bill into law. And some moderate Democrats, like West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, have opposed the extensions without adding a work requirement. His position is part of the reason Democrats\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/09\/07\/democrats-all-in-budget-joe-biden-congressional-majorities-passage-far-from-certain-budget-reconciliation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">sweeping social safety package<\/a>, which contains the bulk of Biden\u2019s domestic agenda, hit snags in Congress. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/17\/americans-support-child-tax-credits-republicans-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Americans Support Monthly Child Tax Credit Payments. Over 20% of the survey\u2019s 1,514 respondents said they either had their own business or were planning to start one.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to helping parents work more, most respondents said they planned to use the payments for emergency savings, routine expenses and essential items.
