Harthill was hired as a partner at Morgan Lewis in 2018 after serving as the Department of Labor\u2019s deputy solicitor of labor for national operations and is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/susan-harthill-3431b329\">currently<\/a> a senior consultant at the firm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSusan Harthill represents employers in the full range of employment law and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) matters, with a focus on counseling, compliance, litigation, and audits and investigations,\u201d the White House <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2021\/09\/22\/president-biden-announces-key-nominations-2\/#:~:text=Bar.-,susan%20harthill%2C%20nominee,-for\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">said<\/a> Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMs. Harthill advises employers on statutory and regulatory compliance and conducts trainings, including harassment and discrimination training,\u201d it continued. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/09\/amazon-alabama-joe-biden\/\">(RELATED: Amazon Warehouse Workers Overwhelmingly Reject Unionization Bid, Organizers Cry Foul)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The OSHRC is an independent agency tasked with issuing citations or penalties to employers following an investigation into potential violations of workplace safety code. The firm advises clients on how to \u201cproactively identify risks and develop strategies and solutions to help employers avoid litigation and other employee disputes, including those that involve unions or organizing campaigns,\u201d its website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.morganlewis.com\/services\/labor-employment-benefits\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Harry Johnson, a partner at Morgan Lewis and former National Labor Relations Board member, is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nlrb.gov\/case\/10-RC-269250\">leading<\/a> Amazon\u2019s legal fight against a unionization attempt at its Bessemer, Alabama warehouse.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon workers at the Bessemer warehouse <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/04\/09\/amazon-alabama-joe-biden\/\">overwhelmingly rejected<\/a> unionization in April, but an NLRB hearing officer <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2021\/08\/02\/national-labor-relations-board-labor-union-amazon-warehouse-alabama\/\">recommended<\/a> last month that a new election take place, saying the company used intimidation tactics to sway the employees.
