The text inside the image claims the woman is Canada\u2019s health minister, while the post\u2019s caption reads, \u201cLook very closely\u2026what does your intuition tell you?\u201d <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/08\/30\/fact-check-alexandre-trudeau-not-arrested-sexual-misconduct-child-pornography\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Will All Walmarts In Canada Require Customers To Show Proof Of COVID-19 Vaccination To Enter Starting In November?)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The woman pictured, however, is not Canada\u2019s minister of health. Through a reverse image search, Check Your Fact found an unedited version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestar.com\/opinion\/star-columnists\/2020\/04\/23\/conservative-mps-ugly-smear-against-theresa-tam-comes-from-an-infection-in-canadian-politics.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">photo<\/a>&nbsp;featured in an April 2020 Toronto Star article. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestar.com\/opinion\/star-columnists\/2020\/04\/23\/conservative-mps-ugly-smear-against-theresa-tam-comes-from-an-infection-in-canadian-politics.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">article<\/a> identifies the woman as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/public-health\/corporate\/organizational-structure\/canada-chief-public-health-officer\/biography.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dr. Theresa Tam<\/a>, who serves as chief public health officer of Canada, according to the Canadian government\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/public-health\/corporate\/organizational-structure\/canada-chief-public-health-officer\/biography.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">website<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/health-canada\/corporate\/honourable-patricia-a-hajdu.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Patty Hajdu<\/a>&nbsp;is the current minister of health in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>The image of Tam shared on Facebook has been digitally altered to make her look sickly. No blemishes are visible in the genuine picture of her found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestar.com\/opinion\/star-columnists\/2020\/04\/23\/conservative-mps-ugly-smear-against-theresa-tam-comes-from-an-infection-in-canadian-politics.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Toronto Star article<\/a>. Her eyes appear regularly-sized in the original, while in the version shared on Facebook they appear overly large and dark. Her teeth also appear to have been accentuated in the altered image. In the unaltered version, Tam looks healthy.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time the image of a public health official has been deceptively altered.
