Listen to the full podcast:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>1) <\/b><b>The Border Crisis Continues<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>The Topline: <\/b><span>The small town of Del Rio, Texas, has been in the headlines after 14,000 migrants \u2014 mostly Haitians \u2014 flooded the city, setting up a makeshift camp under a bridge. The Morning Wire discussed the situation with Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) and Congressman Tony Gonzales (R), who represents Del Rio.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Quote Of The Day:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>\u201c<\/b><span>What is happening is just pure chaos. I mean, you have a small sleepy town that is just essentially\u2026been overrun with\u2026 all these different issues.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u2013 Rep. He said they are putting up increased fencing and jailing anyone who comes across the barriers. Since he declared the situation a disaster, criminal penalties have been doubled and people could be sent to jail for up to a year for trespassing.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Biden Administration&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>The governor said the Biden administration is beginning to fly some of the Haitian migrants back to their home country, but he said this isn\u2019t nearly enough. He also said the White House is not being transparent about who is being flown out and who\u2019s allowed to stay, and how those decisions are made.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Congressman Tony Gonzales<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Rep. More notably, it essentially allows private citizens to sue those who break the law, including those who aid and abet illegal abortion procedures.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Lawsuits<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Two disbarred lawyers filed separate lawsuits against Alan Braid, an OB\/GYN in San Antonio who <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/2021\/09\/18\/texas-abortion-provider-alan-braid\/\"><span>wrote<\/span><\/a><span> an op-ed saying he \u201cprovided an abortion to a woman who\u2026was beyond the state\u2019s new limit.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The doctor was also sued by a man from Arkansas, Oscar Stilley, who <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/09\/20\/us\/texas-abortion-lawsuit-alan-braid.html\"><span>told<\/span><\/a><span> The New York Times he isn\u2019t pro-life. He said he\u2019s taking legal action because the doctor violated the law.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Local media also <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ksat.com\/news\/local\/2021\/09\/20\/san-antonio-doctor-who-openly-flouted-texas-abortion-ban-sued-by-disbarred-illinois-lawyer\/\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span> the doctor was sued by Felipe Gomez, another disbarred lawyer from Illinois. He describes himself in the lawsuit as a \u201cPro-Choice plaintiff\u201d and reportedly \u201casks the judge to order the law is unconstitutional and violates Roe v. Border Patrol<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>The Topline: <\/b><span>Some reports claimed photos showed Border Patrol agents \u201cwhipping\u201d Haitian migrants as they crossed the Rio Grande to illegally enter the country. Border Patrol officials say these accounts are untrue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Photos<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>When pictures emerged of border patrol agents on horseback, chasing fleeing migrants, numerous reporters and media outlets claimed they showed agents using \u201cwhips\u201d to round up Haitian migrants. One outlet went so far as to say an agent \u201cswung his whip menacingly.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Border Patrol agents blasted the claims, saying they don\u2019t carry whips and what was observed in photos were reins used to direct the horse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The agents ride with western saddles and bridles, which use split reins that are attached to the bit, but not tied or clasped together. Long strips of leather hang down on either side of the horse\u2019s neck, so if a horse moves quickly to the side, the strip of leather will naturally flow outward.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>The Videos<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>The videos in question show agents on horseback attempting to block migrants from entering the country.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>When a migrant approaches an agent\u2019s horse, the agent swings the reins around in a circular motion. This was described as whipping, but a Border Patrol agent said this is done to keep migrants from getting too close to the animal. The president also suggested the U.S. is not seeking a \u201cnew Cold War\u201d with China.<\/span><i><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Canada Election<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span>Justin Trudeau will remain as Canada\u2019s Prime Minister, but his goal of winning a majority of seats in the government fell short. Trudeau called a \u201csnap election\u201d in August hoping his \u201cliberal party\u201d would win a majority 170 seats, but the move backfired as many Canadians saw the election as unnecessary and self-serving.<\/span><i><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Gabby Petito<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span>Autopsy results released Tuesday determined the body found Sunday in Wyoming was that of Gabby Petito. <\/span><span>Final autopsy results are still pending, but the initial cause of death has been ruled a homicide.<\/span><span> The 22-year-old disappeared while on a cross-country trip with her <\/span><span>fianc\u00e9, Brian Laundrie. Her family reported her missing on September 11th.
