He denied that the FBI had urged him to cancel the press conference, and said that he nixed the plans because they were not in the family\u2019s \u201cbest interest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs per my conversation with the FBI this evening there will be no press conference tomorrow,\u201d Bertolino told the Post, adding that it was \u201cjust not in my clients\u2019 best interest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Laundrie, 23, is a person-of-interest in Petito\u2019s disappearance. He went missing as well and was reported by his parents as being last seen on September 14. The FBI <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/fbi-raids-home-of-gabby-petito-fiance-removes-parents-declares-crime-scene\">raided<\/a> the Laundrie family home on Monday and carried out boxes of files amid its investigation into Petito\u2019s disappearance.<\/p>\n<p>Remains, believed to be Petito\u2019s, were found over the weekend. The official autopsy on what authorities believe to be the 22-year-old\u2019s body is taking place on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to Petito\u2019s disappearance, Laundrie and Petito were questioned by several law enforcement officers responding to a domestic disturbance call. Melissa Hulls, a park ranger and one of the responding officers, spoke to Petito during the stop and urged her to \u201cfind another path\u201d and end her relationship with Laundrie. As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/park-ranger-warned-gabby-petito-of-toxic-relationship-urged-her-to-find-another-path-before-disappearance\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"39\">\n<p><em>\u201cI can still hear her voice,\u201d Hulls said. \u201cShe wasn\u2019t just a face on the milk carton, she was real to me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Hulls said that she warned Petito that her relationship with Laundrie seemed \u201ctoxic.\u201d Body camera footage from the stop captured a distraught and crying Petito.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI was probably more candid with her than I should\u2019ve been,\u201d Hulls said. \u201cI was imploring with her to reevaluate the relationship, asking her if she was happy in the relationship with him, and basically saying this was an opportunity for her to find another path, to make a change in her life.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cShe had a lot of anxiety about being away from him, I honestly thought if anything was going to change it would be after they got home to Florida.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Petito stayed with Laundrie after the officers\u2019 intervention. About a month later, Petito\u2019s family reported her missing and, on Sunday, authorities found human remains in Wyoming that are believed to be Petito.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI honestly haven\u2019t looked at my body camera footage for that night. It\u2019s hard to think about now because I feel like I could\u2019ve said more to help her,\u201d Hulls said. \u201cIt\u2019s hard not to second-guess myself, and wish I said more, or wish I had found the right words to make her believe that she deserved more.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The domestic disturbance was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/breaking-911-caller-witnessed-brian-laundrie-slapping-hitting-gabby-petito\">reported<\/a> by a 911 caller in Moab, Utah, where the couple had been staying.
