White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki brushed off the remarks in an Aug. 26 press briefing, stating \u201cIt\u2019s not a day for politics,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/jen-psaki-not-a-day-for-politics-biden-resign-bombings-2021-8\">Insider<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A post on Facebook claims \u201cBIDEN &amp; HARRIS accepted to leave the White House and agreed to resign.\u201d The post includes a 29-minute video from One America News shared on Sept. 17.<\/p>\n<p>However, Check Your Fact reviewed the video in its entirety, and at no point does the newscaster state Biden and Harris are resigning from their positions. About half of the newscast focuses heavily on the withdrawal of U.S. service members from Afghanistan, and Americans who were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2021\/09\/18\/1038592072\/another-flight-has-left-kabuls-airport-this-time-with-28-u-s-citizens-on-board\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">still in Afghanistan<\/a> at the time of the newscast. The rest of the newscast discusses the federal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/companies-grapple-with-questions-about-covid-19-vaccine-mandate-11631871003\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">COVID-19 vaccine mandate<\/a> for business with 100 or more employees, the Democrats\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/08\/09\/politics\/senate-reconciliation-package\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$3.5 trillion spending proposal<\/a> to expand Medicare and Medicaid and increase child care subsidies, among other things, Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/09\/15\/style\/aoc-met-gala-dress.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Met Gala dress<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-09-13\/democrats-attempt-appeal-to-moderates-by-slimming-biden-tax-plan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Democrats\u2019 tax proposal<\/a> to increase corporate taxes.<\/p>\n<p>There is no evidence in the video or elsewhere that Biden and Harris have \u201caccepted\u201d or \u201cagreed\u201d to step down from their positions, contrary to the title\u2019s claim. If both the president and vice president resigned, media outlets certainly would have reported on it, yet <a href=\"https:\/\/news.google.com\/search?q=Biden%20Harris%20resign&amp;hl=en-US&amp;gl=US&amp;ceid=US%3Aen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">none<\/a> have.<\/p>\n<p>Check Your Fact searched the verified Twitter <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/potus?lang=en\">accounts<\/a>&nbsp;for&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JoeBiden?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\">Biden<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VP?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor\">and<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kamalaharris?lang=en\">Harris<\/a>, but found no mention of the two having announced their resignations. There have also been no <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">press releases<\/a> from the White House indicating this will happen, either. <a href=\"https:\/\/checkyourfact.com\/2021\/09\/15\/fact-check-kamala-harris-arrested-singapore\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">(RELATED: Was Kamala Harris Arrested In Singapore?)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is second in line to become president after the vice president, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usa.gov\/presidents\">USA.gov<\/a>, so if both Biden and Harris resigned, she would assume the presidency.
