It has circulated online for over a year without attribution.<\/p>\n<p><span><strong>Fact Check:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The message about the Bible predicting a cashless society, purportedly authored by Tebow, has circulated widely on social media in recent days. One iteration has garnered <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?fbid=10161347184394899&amp;set=a.10154142885074899&amp;type=3&amp;theater\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tens of thousands of shares<\/a> as of press time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government might be preparing us for a cashless society, but it was predicted by the bible. Already designed! If put into place this just means our time is getting closer,\u201d the statement reads in part. Check Your Fact also searched Tebow\u2019s verified <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile\/100044403847135\/search\/?q=%22cashless%20society%22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">social<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/timtebow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">media<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=cashless%20society%20(from%3ATimTebow%20OR%20from%3Atebowfoundation)&amp;src=typed_query\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">accounts<\/a> but found nothing resembling the post. There are likewise no <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=tim+tebow+%22cashless+society%22&amp;oq=Tim+Tebow+%22cashless+&amp;aqs=chrome.1.69i57j69i59.7054j0j7&amp;sourceid=chrome&amp;ie=UTF-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">credible news reports<\/a> about Tebow saying the Bible foretold a \u201ccashless society.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An internet search reveals the statement dates back to at least July 2020, when it was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/elizabeth.l.cisneros.5\/posts\/1936146883182752\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">shared<\/a> on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/270318030019910\/posts\/1145338385851199\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Facebook<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/permalink.php?story_fbid=3283371495087168&amp;id=312960508794963\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">numerous<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/thefrostteam\/posts\/10223381343059807\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">times<\/a> without attribution. A spokesperson for Tebow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.snopes.com\/fact-check\/tim-tebow-cashless-society-bible\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told Snopes<\/a> that Tebow \u201cdid not author this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tebow last played a regular-season game in the NFL in 2012 with the New York Jets, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/sports-nfl-football-jacksonville-jaguars-tim-tebow-7ecb595521e9fd29acb380012d328a97\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Associated Press<\/a>.
